Joann Hsu – Duke Energy

Joann is a Business and Technical Consultant at Duke Energy. She helps to innovate and improve customer experience with her data skills. She has an MS in organic chemistry, three lovely children, and MCSE certification in Data Management and Analytics, in time order. For almost 5 years, SQL Server User Group local meetings and SQL Saturdays have inspired Joann to energize her SQL scripts, to surf all newly available data platforms and to continue being curious. This is her first knowledge sharing session in a user group meeting. Besides sharing her Python codes, she wants to encourage audience to consider becoming a presenter too.

Is it possible to become a confident Python user in one hour? Come and find the answer by joining this Python session designed for SQL experts by a SQL expert. Instead of print(‘hello world’), you will connect to, and query SQL server directly. Next, you will synthesize SQL script as complex as you want it be in python. All boring introduction of data type, loop, list, tuple, etc. will be disguised as interesting focal points in this talk. This session will equip you with knowledge, challenge you with questions and entertain you with several boring jokes.
